Decal as inspired by the new BMW 3.0 CSL

The new BMW 3.0 CSL in production will be “the most powerful six cylinder BMW ever” from stock.
Based on the BMW 3.0 CSL hommage R concept, the new production road legal 3.0 CSL will have 560hp out the door before you can tune it, sadly it will be very limited to just 50 cars, based on the M4, rear-wheel-drive and with a manual gearbox, Talk about love of the classics!

As much as some may like or dislike decals, I actually loved the decals on the BMW 3.0 CSL featured in the above article and video. This inspired me to put decals on my 2020 X4 m40i. Not withstanding, I had swapped my roundels to the 50th anniversary ones and put on quad exhaust tips. I am on a lease, still within warranty and I’m not sure if I will keep this car past the lease period so I am wary of permanent modifications to the engine and coding the ECU.

However, since I know I will never ever own a 3.0 CSL due to it’s price, (actually due to the shortage of only 50 being produced ), I can only imagine one and pay “hommage” by sticking onto my m40i these decals that I love.
Happy viewing!

Momma said if you dont have anything nice then dont say anything.
But I do have a question for you- the bubbles and creases in the taped on pieces dont bother you?

Looks awesome. The color is a nice contrast to the white.
Can you change the color of the wheels without affecting your least?
Or, you could you the plastidip type coating for wheels or even vinyl which are temporary and really emulate the CSL.

Thanks, I did a DIY on a very windy and not so warm day, was tired of waiting for a sunny day in England, had the taped pieces sitting in a box for over 6months. I could have used a hot blower and all but I was lazy and in a hurry, I thought if it comes out too creased I will just reorder them..

It doesn’t really bother me because from afar it’s not very visible, it’s turning more heads than I expected and that brings a smile to my face, well it’s a small town here.
I might heat them on a warm day and stretch them better when I have got the time. The good thing about this is I can peel them off once the craze calms off. It does contrast nicely on the white paint though.

Unfortunately the colour/color of the wheels on the 3.0 CSL are not really my thing. I don’t fancy the bold decals on the front bumper either, I feel it’s a bit too much, I just like that side curvy one across the fender. The CSL also has non-adjustable seats that can only be adjusted with a trip to the dealership and it’s a two-seater coupe, not my style . . . ,
What I am trying to say is I don’t like everything on it, I just like those side curvy decals, that’s what inspired me to tape up my “cheap” X4 and so far it’s doing it for me without costing $700,000 as a CSL would.
