Any Way to Change Vent Intensity for Auto Climate?
Hey Guys,
So I just recently started using the Auto climate control instead of doing it manually. I can't seem to figure out a way to choose how strong it blows out of each vent though. If I hit the Auto button (when Auto is already on), it comes up with an Auto menu on the iDrive, and shows how hard it is blowing out of each vents. I can't seem to change the individual vent strengths though. I would prefer to have it blow harder out of the top and bottom vents, and hardly blow out of the center vents. Any suggestions? |

I believe "Auto" means Auto and you lose your individual vent settings. I know I set my vent speeds seperately but I am unsure if it was in a non-auto mode.

Can't you still do this with iDrive in the 09? Are there vent settings?

Not that I can tell. You can "see" the vent settings, but it won't let you change them. If you turn the iDrive knob, it just switches back to the menu you were previously on "like CD or Nav", and if you turn the temp controls, it just changes the temperature.

Hold your idrive knob to the left for 3-5 secs or hit menu and push left and it'll jump you to the climate control screen where you can tweak the vent settings. Atleast thats how it works in my 08 335xi coupe nav.
Alternatively if you hit auto mutiple times, it will cycle thr the three auto programs, low, med, and, high intensities. |

So I tried dchen2's advice, and it doesn't work on the 09 iDrive. I may just have to turn down the vent knobs for the front vents, but I must admit, that solution is pretty lame if it is in fact the only option.
