K40 Calibre Bluetooth
Anyone install this detector in their e90? I'd love to see some pics of where/how people mounted the LEDs. Anyone compared this to the v1 for range/filtering? Bluetooth sounds like a great way to get protection w/out the velco & suction cups cluttering up my interior-

I should have pics of my K40 install by end of next week.
We installed the LEDs behind the turnlight indicators (they still blink green when indicating , but will light up red for the radar), the volume knob and LED(s) for highway/city mode have been integrated into the ciagrette lighter. Looks like you are in NH and if you want to see it in person we can always meet up in the Nashua/Manchester area . - Jan |

I might take you up on that. I got my car at Tulley, live about ten minutes from there. Sounds like a nice install. The guys I was going to have do the install said they had put the LED next to the vent open/close dial to the left of the button for your hazards on a 5-series. Yours sounds like a much better idea- Looking forward to the pics

I'm also looking to have the k40 calibre installed in my 330i. I'm having a tough time finding someone in the Northern New Jersey / Southern New York State area who has worked on e90's before. I've heard some horro stories about simple installs gone bad. Can anyone recommend a place? Jmh, I saw from another thread that you used Sound In Motion in Boston. I saw what they did to your x5. If I can't find a place in my area, I may have to make the 3 hour trip to SIM. The behind the blinker led idea is great. How are the rear radar / laser modules mounted on your car? Does it all fit on the license plate bracket? Did you mount the from laser difuser in your grill or on the licence plate? I can't wait to see the pictures.

Hi,
the radar detector/difuser is mounted behind the front grill (can't seen them from the front) and the rear detector is mounted behind the rear plastic skirt. I should have pics by end of the week(end) . - Jan Quote:

Jan, any luck with the pictures? I'd love to check out your install. Were there any complications mounting the LED's behind the blinkers? I read in another post that getting to the instrument panel in fairly complicated. How long did the radar / laser install take? Thanks! Look forward to the pictures!

Hi,
sorry for the delay. Been busy with work/travel. I hope to have a writeup for stage 1 one of the stereo system and the K40 install posted later this weekend. The K40 install turned out very well and the integration of LEDs is as stealth as it gets - Jan |
