How can I share this post accross multiple sub-forums? I wanna try and spread the word incase some folks have removed the app from their iWatch after it started to really suck.

Just noticed that myBMW app has updated to include (*once again? As per some folks on forum saying it used to have this option, but, was later removed) “pre-conditioning” or “climatize” whatever you may call it in your region…

I’ve included some photos and a video of my first remote start from my AppleWatch Ultra. Cheers to my BimmerFam & hopefully they will continue to bring back features and make the iWatch version of myBMW worth having!

Can you use the Apple Watch like a wallet key card? Meaning can you unlock and start the vehicle with it?

Yes, I’ve used just my iWatch plenty of times by accessing the card from Apple Pay menu

It’s handy in a pinch. A couple of notes: you can only have your driver profile synced with either a phone or the watch, not both. Also it’s a little awkward putting the watch on the charging pad to start the car.

You can’t do it all with the watch though, once you’re in the vehicle will likely want you to place your card on the wireless charging tray && doing this with your iWatch apple pay wallet is annoying/difficult (although not impossible LOL took me 4ever and I never left home without my key or phone again)

Lol you and I are on the same wavelength… I’ll never put my watch to the charging pad ever again

I put my phone in the pad and once the vehicle is started, I remove the phone and put in cupholder. Is this also the case for the watch?

I can confirm seeing the Climate controls on my recently acquired Series 8 Apple Watch!

Based on what's been discussed, I'd prefer the digital key be associated with my iPhone since that's easier to put in the tray compared to the watch. Besides, I'd rather not create the potential for a "smash and grab" if I forgot and left the watch in the car (I will rarely be without my phone).

I was a long holdout until the Pandemic made individual health a huge concern. Now I got heart beat, oxygen, and EKG all in one cool device!

It's also my fitness coach and will remind me when I've been a lazy ass!

Yeah once the car is started no need to keep anything on the tray.

I use the phone over the watch also because I often wear analog watches. I always carry the phone, not always the watch.
