New G80 Owner

Hey guys.

I am happy to be a new owner of a BMW G80, switching from a Golf 7.
I don't have any mechanical experience, or know how to change fluids of an engine. Never had to before, and it wasnt that interesting on my 2.0 diesel engine

I have bought a 10k used BMW G80, which had it's break-in service done at the dealership at 1200miles and now I want to offer the best care possible to my car.

Going forward, what advice do you guys have regarding the mechanical maintenance of my car? When do you guys change fluids, engine oil, diff oil, etc etc. My dealer said to just watch the info service in my car, but it says "Service in 15000km" which I find too much.

Looking forward to your answer, Thank you!

My first question is was there a oil change done at the 10000 mile mark? I ask this because you mention the service menu is saying the next service is 15000KM with some quick American math is about 10000 miles. This implies the oil change was completed, but you also imply that the break in service was the only thing completed. So little confused but my answer would be the same. Confirm an oil change was also done at 10000 miles before trusting the service menu.

In regards to future maintenance. If its just a road car then the recommend service interval is 10000 miles by BMW. If you track it, then all bets are off and you will need to do preventative maintence accordingly. I dont track mine so I will leave it to others for thier recommendations.

Hello

Sorry I have messed up the imperial/metric measurements.

So I live in Europe and most break-in service is done at 1200 miles, around 2000km. My car has done that.

Now I am sitting at 10500kms, which is almost 6500 miles.

Isn't there a maintenance manual that tells you when and what needs replacing? As far as oil I wouldn't wait past 10000km, so basically soon on your end.
