No break-in service for 2023 M3? [updated: dealer f** up]

I was just told by my SA that there is no break-in service for new M3s and the rev limit will be automatically removed @ 1200miles. Is that true? I can't find this info anywhere else. My car is 2023 manual M3.

Thanks!

[update]
OMG!! The dealer did break-in service @450mile without informing me! I brought car there @450mile in November for a rock stuck in my brake and they took it out, but SA just told me they also did break-in service at same time! What should I do now?

[Final update]
The service manager agreed to do another engine/diff oil for free. Not ideal since it’s different break in oil but I think I am fine with it. Thanks for all the answers here!

Hi, that's absolutely not true. There's no rev limiter, and there is a break-in service to do a differential fluid change + oil change. WTF is he talking about????

When it doubt, follow the owners manual. In the manual it clearly states the break-in is required. So it doesn't matter what the SA tells you.

Even though I knew before hand (lurking in these forums and watching a shit ton of YouTube vids), my SA was pretty adamant about informing me about the 1200 mile break-in. Your SA should be selling Hondas.

If you spend enough time here you quickly realize that anything that starts with “My SA said” is complete BS. Thankful for this forum.

I'm not even sure I could trust a dealer to work on my car, if the SA told me that. The fkn dash tells you "Break in Service in 1,200 miles."

I think he wants you to brick ur G80 so he can sell u another car. Just had mine done. They call it "Run-In Service" and its recommended at 1000-1200 miles. I was a bit late and did mine close to 1500 miles but thats the max they want u to push it off to. Here is a video of it

idk why you would trust your SA lol. they usually don't know anything about car mechanics. talk to the head service guy if you have questions.

The dealer is trolling for sure. The SA was rude as well, when I was complaining, he said "You can take the car today, that's it".

Did you check the service invoice when they gave you back your vehicle. They cannot perform the service just like that when it isnt anywhere close to the recommended miles.

I definitely threw away that paper and I am sure I didn't see anything related to break-in service on that paper. But the SA just told me it was recorded in their system and he said if the SA can do a service when he thinks it is time to do it. I was like.... WHAT???

If it was done at 450 miles, as long as it was done (get it documented), don't worry about it, move on with your life and maybe find a new SA.
