front strut brace - worth it?

Looking to see if a front strut brace would be worth it on my f32.

Considering this one, open to recommendations.
Hoping not to break the bank tho :P

It's not a game changer, but does provide a noticeable difference for me. Front has an overall tighter feel, a bit quicker steering, etc. I got mine from Ultra Racing, goes around the front of the engine instead of over it.

I am in Cali, so there’s some tight turns. Do you think the material matters?

I kind of like that wrap around as well, looks easier to do any engine work vs having to take it off.

There's a whole debate about what material is better and also hinged vs solid design. I originally bought a cheap ebay one for about $65 made from aluminum and it was VERY light (it was also a POS, scratched to hell, poor welds). The one I have now is steel and it's really not much heavier, very well made to. They're sold on ebay, Amazon, or direct.

EDIT: One trick about ebay is if you put the item on your watch list for a few days some sellers will offer to sell it to you for cheaper. I countered their -$10 offer and total took about $20 off the price.

If you're local to SoCal, then Megan Racing will sell you one for local pickup from the SGV. This is what I installed on my car.

I have a Wiechers Steel front brace on my F36.
I do notice that it turns in quicker at low speeds but on the track, the benefit is overshadowed by the rest of the chassis in stock form

Pushing the car to the limit- you won't notice the benefit as much as the car still rolls too much (even with lowering springs)- Having a front strut braced won't change the fundamentals of handling in that aspect.

Ps- it does make the engine bay look slightly more appealing to look at- if that's your thing.

They don't do as much as they would if the car didn't already have a brace as standard equipment, a fact overlooked in the advertising.

A strut brace between the two strut towers prevents the top of the chassis from flexing. It makes the steering feel quicker upon entering a turn because it eliminates that normal delay as the chassis flexes a tiny amount. It's not something that guys notice until they install a strut brace and they feel the difference.

IMO don't buy a one-piece brace. Those are single use stretch bolts that BMW uses on top of the strut towers. People reuse than because they don't want the hassle and price of replacing them each time. But you really don't want them to be reused over and over to service your engine.

Bars that use brackets with removable cross bars eliminate that because only the crossbar is removed to service. Jeremy also mentioned about being able to pre-load it.

Below is the link to the bar that I've used for four years. IMO it has the best quality and features. (I've used many strut braces on my various cars over the years.) Photo shows my engine. I had my bar powder coated to match my engine bay.
