2023 X4 Roof Rails
Anyone have any experience with roof rails that use double sided tape? A friend gave me a pair from some company on Ebay. I want to put them on but have concerns. I prefer to go OEM and have bmw install, but cant find the roof rails anywhere! FYI they are only for looks. I will never put a rack on there.

I checked with BMW ETK and BMW hasn't released the roof rack for MY22 or MY23 X4 G02. I also checked the pre LCI G02 and there was no listing of roof rack for pre LCI G02 also...

Please do not try to install roof rails with double sided tape. This is an accident waiting to happen, and highly unsafe regardless if you plan to "use" them or not.
Wait to find proper ones that fit your car or go without them. Those are your options.

Here is the repair instruction for replacing the roof rails. It's quite involve if you are following all the steps... If you want the dealer to do that for you, that would be 35 FRU, which is almost 3.5 hours of labor since 1 FRU = 6 mins.

Im aware, but my local bmw guy told me that rails wouldnt fit. Maybe they moved the holes a mm over or something. I have a BMW aftermarket guy that has some rails from a 22 and will compare them to my 2023 to see if they line up next week.

It's impossible to know on paper. I highly doubt they changed considering the area in the roof is identical. Only minor things like headlights and bumpers changed for LCI. I'm very confident it will work just fine.

According to this VIN, these are the roof rail part numbers (item 4) according to BMW ETK (attached as pdf). Note they are identical to the ones I provided to you earlier. If these evidents still can't convince you I don't know what can. |
