Exclamation

Pretty serious oil leak on my 08 335i. Drove it on the interstate a couple days ago and it leaked half a quart in less than an hour. Added a quart and it didn't go down again until today when I Dropped the undertray and hit everything with the brake clean special then took it for a short drive (Less than 15min, up to probably 60mph) and the oil level dropped another click. When I got back and looked under there was a good bit of oil on the pan mostly near the front and the hoses underneath but some blew back, didn't look like there was very much oil on the top of the pan.

List of things replaced in the last 2 months: Crank Seal, Valve Cover Gasket, Crank Bolt and Crank Washer, Oil Pump, Oil Pump Chain and Guide, Chain Rail, Oil Pan Gasket, Oil Filter Housing Gasket and Oil Cooler Gasket.

Wish I took some picture but any insight would be helpful.!

I would guess one of those gaskets wasn't done correctly. Who did the work? Detect the leak. Use a UV dye if you have trouble.

Why don't you clean everything off, and add a UV dye kit?

Also, you could be dealing with both burning and leaking.

That much and towards the front its gotta be coming from high up on the engine. Agree with 1939, look at OFHG or VCG areas and see what you see.

My oil cooler gaskt leaked again quickly after replacement with a cheap one from China. Replaced the tube o-rings (2) this time as well which may have also been contributing (get the o-rings from the dealer if possible as they're not a standard size).
