Exclamation Rapid leak in right-rear tire. Suggestions/advice sorely needed. *Non-RFTs

*Update: Problem solved. Very poor TPMS install job.

On the way back from a drive tonight, my car showed low tire pressure about five minutes from my house. I stopped by a gas station, filled it up with air, and sorta shrugged it off. I planned on taking it out for a little joyride about an hour later, and as I'm five minutes into my trip (right near the same gas station), I get the low pressure warning again. My tire managed to drop from 38psi (hot) to the low 20s.

Here's my dilemma. I don't have a mobility kit on me, nor do I have a jack. I don't have RFTs. What should I do? The closest dealer to me is a thirty minute drive if I take the highway; about 10-12 miles distance. I don't want to damage my wheel or cause unnecessary wear to my tire.

Right now all I can do is let it sit overnight. Is that okay? I don't think the air will leak out if the car is stationary, or at least the leak won't be severe enough to the point that it'll be completely flat come tomorrow morning. My plan is to go fill up the tire and go buy the M-Mobility kit at my local dealer.

Is the mobility kit a permanent fix? I hope so.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Serious question: Do you think I should play it extra safe and take the long route, avoid the highway and fill up air frequently as I pass every few gas stations? I'm not sure...

isnt the mobility kit the slim stuff?? if so then i would not do it cause the inside of the tire will be all nasty.. i would just go gas station to gas station to fill up if you do not want to take the freeway and risk being stuck on the road.. or you can find a spair tire and use that to get to your destination..

I don't know what the kit contains. I thought it was to patch a punctured tire.

I don't have a spare. I need to know if the kit will be all that I'll need.

Is the mobility kit a permanent fix? No it is not it is for temp use only. Go find a close tire shop and have them fix it you probibly have a nail in you tire and go buy a 12v air compressor and put it in your trunk for situations like this and buy a spare. I bought a ASA AR1 with a General Exclaim UHP from tire rack for under $250 delivered. I also bought a BMW jack kit for about $120.

the mobility kit is just a sealant injector and air pump and NOT a perm fix. the patch is good for about 125 miles at 50mph.

find a tire shop locally to patch the tire.

Find the leak and plug it yourself with a plug kit... no need to take it to the dealer or a tire shop....

Angry Wasn't even a puncture...

Thanks for the suggestions guys, but it turns out that I didn't even have a puncture.

I'm EXTREMELY disappointed in Jlevi at the moment. The problem turned out to be poorly installed pressure sensors. The one on my back right tire was extremely loose, as the employee at Tire Kingdom noticed and pointed out to me. Air was leaking insanely fast, and you could just nudge the valve slightly and air would gush out. All the other wheels had loose valves/pressure sensors as well, but not as bad as this wheel. The mechanic tightened them all up free of charge, and stated how concerned he was with whoever installed the TPMS sensors.

I'm extremely concerned as well. And on a side note, I'm also disappointed in the paint quality of my wheels. There are multiple imperfections, but it's nothing that I care enough to make a deal out of.
