Sidelight / parking light / DRL failure

My 2016 F35 Xenon headlight sidelight halo (right hand side) stopped working - got an error on the dash. The actual low beam works fine, just the sidelights.

I don't have the vaguest idea how to replace a sidelight halo bulb.

Someone mentioned that I may need a whole new unit? Any ideas?

Many thanks

Probably don't need a new headlight, just need to replace the module that failed. Don't think it's as easy as reaching your hand in and replacing a bulb, most likely the bumper and headlight must come off/out.

You could also find a used headlight for cheap on ebay and just replace the entire thing:

Thank you. After fitting another unit, Does the module need to be coded specifically to my car?

If you replace the specific DRL ring module then prob not. If you swap the entire assembly/headlight module then probably yes.

Weird thing is, the halo rings turn on when unlocking the car for about 1 seconds and then it doesn't come back on and an error proceeds.

I wonder if something has shorted because I found the headlight inspection flap missing (must have fallen off while driving) and the circular cap half off, so somehow the interior of the unit got messed up.

I wonder if I turn off the cold check on the bulbs via coding, it may allow the sidelights to stay on, as it appears it's detecting a power issue and the car turns the drivers side sidelights off completely.
