If you mean holding the brake and spinning the rears, many components can be stressed beyond the tires. At the very least, the rear brakes are still engaged and will become excessive hot. If you put on your parking brake after doing this, you could possibly warp the rotor.

What, you got two pedals? One for your front brakes and one for the rear?
What kind of d.a. question is this?

@blake-F.U.
@lib -F.U. even more
@Prowess- when reving ur engine whille pressing the brake will jus increase ur rpms but at a certain point (letting the brake slightly loose) untill u feel ur rear wheels spining will only lock ur front but not rear brakes...

you want to make a smoke show why.... what are you 15? what are you hoping the smokescreen will hide you from cops when your about to speed?

and obviously if you knew how a transmission works. u would already know your answer.. u didnt even specify if your tranny is auto or manual. but from your figure of speech ima assume auto. i hope your car is a lease....

Dude.... That is not true. You cannot only engage your front brakes. The only reason the back tires spin after a certain RPM is because the power going to them is enough to overcome the force of the brakes holding them. You are still grinding the brakes when you do that. Durh.
