What is this suspension part?

Hey so I got Dinan springs installed the other day, I was taking a look and I saw this black rubber thing which looks like it's not being pressed down equally or it didn't sit properly. Is it important to fix or is this just there for sound insulation.

Dust cover is not fitted correctly. (Or it's the wrong dust cover).

It's the bump stop which has the dust cover incorporated. As long as it's covering the shock piston shaft your good to go. Did you install the dinan bump stop when you had the springs installed ? If not you will most likely bottom the car out on the factory bump stops which isn't pleasant. I had this set up with the dinan bump stop which is shorter and still bottomed out in certain situations.

Yea the guy who installed it said it's just a dust cover. I had the Dinan bump stops installed with the springs. Is this an issue or should I go get it fitted properly?

It looks like the boot is just bunched up. Can you reach in and just move it . If the shaft is completely covered it should be ok. It's just there to keep dirt out so it won't affect the seal on the top of the shock. I would try to fix it myself if it bothers you. But if it's covering the shock shaft I would just ignore it.

That doesn't look right. The part in question is 31-30-6-791-712, it looks like your is torn in half, or missing the top part where the spring should be resting against the top hat bearing. Attached is a picture of what it should look like when installed.
