No More TPM Light

Just heard a great idea this morning, if you inflate your tires with Nitrogen they will be less likely to drop in pressure in the cold weather. You should also see better gas milage.

This is true. Nitrogen is less likely to change pressure with the temperature. However, the air already contains 78% of nitrogen. So, the difference is minor. Do it only if you get it for free (my dealership doesn't give me the choice, but it's free). If you have to pay for it, it's money lost.

Only a consequence of the first point. It your tires have the correct pressure, you have better gas mileage.

Yup, add that to the list of hypes that never went anywhere... a lot like this insane obsession on going green and soon to be global warming. Simply put you need to bend down once in 2-3 months with a tire pressure gauge and check it, pump it up at a gas station if needed... but no that was too hard for us so we came up with nitrogen filled tires, TMPS that go off for no reason, along with Run flats tires that cost 3 time as much as regular.

Those of you that are going to jump on my case for the global warming comment I just wanna say for the record that I do know the planet is getting warmer and I just refuse to think that we have a big impact on it, furthermore I do refuse to believe that we are in a position to be able to do anything about it unless we all go back to living in caves. While it may help Al Gore score some points the mass hysteria that was caused around the issue has only accelerated the process and in no way made things better.

Sorry for the rant.. pretty off topic now that I read it back.

Noro, I agree completely. In fact, the Earth has warmed and cooled dozens or maybe even hundreds of times before people ever even got here..........Ice used to cover almost 3/4 of the 48 contiguous United States. When it receded back up north was it due to too many SUVs and power plants? Um....

AIR

for all of you driving in the colder climates...

don't forget to have your summer air taken out,
and have the winter air put in.
