X drive lowing

Does the xdrive shock need to come out completely on the fronts to install lowing
Springs or it can be done like the rwd just lower the shock and slide new springs on

It has to come out since the front drive shaft is different than the RWD ...

As Vic55 said.
It has to come out. Doesn't swing as far as RWD due to front axles.
