FIX - Bluetooth Issues / phone pairing

Apologies if this topic has been addressed by a previous thread (or if this is covered by the owners manual, lol).

So, the other day, out of the blue, Android Auto no longer would load in my 2022 G80 xDrive. Moreover, no text messages or phone calls could be received. I was not able to delete the phone, nor add a new phone, despite the fact that my Samsung Galaxy S10 remained listed as a mobile device on the iDrive. So, basically, Bluetooth connectivity was lost. My phone had no issues pairing with the Bluetooth system in our other car, a Subaru Outback.

After some searching, I found the solution:

Hold/press the radio/volume button down for >30 secs while the car is on and in Park. The radio and screen will shut down and then restart after a brief period (10 secs). At this point, a message will appear on the screen indicating that the mobile device (in my case, Samsung Galaxy S10) will need to be paired. Proceed to the pairing screen, and voila! it works. Android Auto re-established. Appears to be a form of re-boot.

Hope that helps anyone with a similar issue.

Thanks I've actually had this happen and it just resolved on it's own after a day. Good to know there is a faster fix.

Thank you for posting this fix! I was really starting to lose my mind. The problem was exactly as you described. Holding the radio power button for that long had the phone/car reboot and fixed the issue!!

Now, i just need to figure out how to get My BMW app to reset and update the status correctly. For the past several days it’s been showing that my right front door and window are open, but they are both closed. I read a post that said updating the remote camera view solved the problem, but that’s not working for me.

I've recommended this procedure 3 times this week. And once was on a different manufacturers forum, which it also works on other cars.
