running runflats with non runflats?

Hello all, I have a thread in the XI forums, but my question is starting to turn into more of a tire thread question. Quick synopsis... I bought winter tires Pirelli Sottozero 240s: 225/40/18 front and 245/40/18 rear. with the XI, this trips the DTC and could potentially ruin my transfer case as pointed out by another member because my rolling diameter is more then 1% difference front-to-rear. I cant find the Pirelli Sottozero 240 Runflat in the stock 255/35/18 size.
1) does anyone know if I can run a runflat in the front and non-runflat in the rear
2) does anyone know a store that sells the sottozero240 runflat in 255/35/18 and has them in stock? I can't even find the option on tirerack anymore. when i bought the rears originally, they were sold out of the 255s.
Thanks

"Can both SSR tyres and standard tyres be used on the same vehicle?

SSR tyres should not be mixed with standard tyres on the same car - even if paired on the axles (in exceptional cases, a normal tyre can be used for a limited period and distance. Then of course, the driver has to be clearly advised that normal tyres do not have the run-flat characteristics of SSR)."
