Wifi Hotspot and apps

Sorry it this is a silly question. If I do not get the wifi Hotspot option, will I still be able to log into and use Spotify, pandora, etc and stream music that way through the car, or do I need to have the wifi Hotspot? On my x3mc I have I drive 6,so I just connect the phone directly. If anyone has any insight, please let me know. Thank you!

The car still has Apple CarPlay and android auto. So, yes, no problem. WiFi hotspot is a complete waste, so no problems that yours won't have it.
