AC Schnitzer offers springs for the front only. I almost went with these, but opted for KW as the prices are pretty close.

Dropping the front only and maintaining a similar wheel gap to the factory rear requires a modest drop of around 20mm. Most spring kits that drop both the front and rear have a much larger front drop than 20mm, unless you go with HAS. Eibach makes a front spring only set with a 20mm drop that’s available in Europe. I found a shop that will ship to US but with shipping it’s almost $600.

Not my car. This is a screenshot from a Motech Performance video.

thanks for the pic and I will now look for a front only spring option that will retain the amazing front end ride quality and handling

I have a set of Eibach Front Springs for sale and I'm in Europe. I'm willing to let them go for cheap as I've ordered an xDrive car and they don't fit. PM me if someone's interested.

I have a G80 in Dravit and also am looking for just a front drop. If I decide to go with this, I will keep you posted.

According to Motech, there is a front only spring for the xDrive...mentions 20mm drop for the front.

Has anyone done the front only recently using the Eibach front springs for the M3 xDrive? If so, any pictures?

I know you guys only want to lower the front. But doing so will most likely cause the car to have massive forward rake. Forward rake will cause the rear end to want to come out a lot more than the car being level.

I also felt the rear did not need to be lowered that much. Most of the lowering solutions out right now seem to lower the rear to an almost tucking look. I dont like that. The KW HAS kit seems to lower the rear too much IMO. I brought this up to KW and they are now going to offer a taller spring. In the mean time, people have been using the 15MM KW coil spacer. And KW will send you the new spring for free once they come out!

Here is my xdrive in stock form and lowered on KW HAS with the 15MM spacer. My rear end is ONLY 1/2" lower. The front is 1" dropped. My ride quality at this height is WONDERFUL. I was lower than this before and I felt like I was riding on bump stops at times. Since raising it up to the height you see here, I can honestly say this REALLY feels like stock.

So if you guys are worried about doing all 4 springs and the rear being too low. The KW HAS with the coil spacer is a great solution if you dont want it that low. With the spacer I have on, I still have a LOT of room to go higher in the rear if I wanted too. Im in the middle of the perch on both front and back in these pics.

That looks perfect. Do you know exact settings for front and rear so others could copy?

The fronts are 15 full turns from the bottom of the perch. I used the locking screw as my measurement to make a full turn. You can do that by hand with a wheel off the ground.

The rears even with the KW 15MM coil spacer currently have about 2/3rd" gap between the perch and collar. I can stick my index finger between the base and where the adjustable collar is. Those are a bitch to adjust. Most shops just drop the lower control arm and dial them in, and repeat until they get it right since the perch mount doesnt lock into place into the body and will spin when you try to adjust the collar. I ended up raising mine up from where the shop had them originally. Which I think WAS around the middle of the adjustment range WITH the KW 15MM spacer. I think I raised mine about 2 turns from where it was.

FISH22 shared a life hack to me on how to adjust the rear collar without having to drop the lower arm. It worked great for me and I spent a few hours doing that until I got mine up to what you see in my pics now.

Since the rear perch base spins in its mount as you try to adjust the collar, you have to either drop the arm or put some kind of pressure on the perch mount to keep it from spinning as you try to spin the collar. His advice was to put a long socket extension with a big socket head on the end of it up inside the lower control arm hole that is directly below the spring. Run that socket and extension up that hole in-between the spring until the socket head touches the black perch mount in the middle of the spring (the rear shock is not inside the spring like the front is). Think of a long shock piston in the middle of the spring. With the car on jack stands, Use a small jack and put pressure upward on that socket and extension you have poking out of the bottom of the lower control arm up to the black perch mount. Use just enough pressure on the perch mount to keep still. dont let it raise the car up higher as its already on jack stands. Doing that gave me the ability to raise my rear up at home without having to go to a shop. The adjustment room is limited. Meaning I could only turn the dial 1/4 a turn at a time. But I got it done and was able to do it myself which was nice.

My front is 14, 1/2" from center of wheel hub to fender edge.
My rear is 14, 1/4" from center of wheel hub to fender edge.

Seeing your car made me decide to do springs. I've been fighting it since getting my car because I'm afraid to change the way the car feels now. I can't deny, it gives the car a whole different look. My car looks like a 4x4 and I can't unsee it now...l

Right on! I can honestly say the KW HAS kit at my height feels 98% stock. Of course my car is more planted. But it ride nice and smooth. Corners even better and I am extremely happy with my purchase. Plus it looks much better stance wise. Good luck with whatever direction you go!
