I say do it. If I was tracking the car I would not have. For daily driving , occasional Mexico runs, and some quarter mile stuff it was a no brainer.

Less brake dust, looks great, should outlast the car if you don't track it. I sell cars around 30/40k so I have no worries.

you have your other thread with every thing plus the bath water on the car but ccbs.... so at 120k, adding 9k is nada tostada.

100%

Plus, a $130K build will probably get you on the front page.

In answer to your question, I have CCBs on my Macan and I'll never order another car without them. Perfect for a daily.

It should be automatic if you spec the car with the M Drivers Package. For the $2,500 it removes the 155 MPH governor, and bumps it to 180MPH, also gets you a free day at the BMW track. I also have the M Drivers package, so I went with the CCBs. You need to be able to stop from 180.

I ordered mine with Carbon breaks. Would tell you what I think but the car has been sitting at the port in GA for three weeks waiting on a chip.

JFC, how many threads do you need to order a car? Just put everything in it, it’s already over $120k, what’s another $8k?

I have to agree with the others. You've got a crazy expensive M3 build. The Carbon Ceramic brakes are icing on the already delicious cake.

My vote: Do it.

I get the carbon brakes thing from a dust and longevity standpoint but if you keep the car long enough to replace? Uber expensive to do so. Way more expensive then multiple break and rotor changes in the same amount of wear.

If you're potentially driving this car in rainy conditions I'd caution against them (it affects initial bite a lot), or if you mind break squeal. A lot of stock brake dust on the steel ones can be mitigated with after market pads. I think even with the $8000 carbon ceramic package the rears are still one pot steel brakes.

I think a lot of people replace them with steel brakes when the time comes many years down the line. When the car is worth $30k in 8 years time, no one is going to spend $20k on replacing brakes

I don't drive mine in the rain, but I will agree with you, on initial bite. They take a little getting used to, especially from a high rate of speed, 170 or so. I found myself screaming at the windshield for the car to stop, as it felt like the peddle was near the ground. I've since learned to get on them, like that, and give them one pump, and they firm up. Seems strange, but I'm ok with it.

I have the CCB and as of right now I don’t like them (I expect to take some heat for this). I don’t track my car so I don’t see the benefit from that aspect. I think it is made worse by the fact I bought my car in November and live in Chicago. I don’t think my car has seen a day beyond 55 degrees and most days are below 40 since ownership (last week the low was -2 -_-). That being said, the brake performance in the cold I think is absolute garbage. I am looking forward to see how they perform in the summer (I am expecting much better because it really can’t get worse).

This about aligns with expectations though. The CCB perform about the same (or worse in some conditions) on the street. They really shine though when they are warmed up and will be super consistent with no fade with repeated heavy, high speed braking on the track.
