E91 Pano roof completely removed - what should I renew?

My 2010 E91 has a dent in the roof that is getting repaired and repainted. To that end my complete roof is stripped out.

Is there anything worth changing / renewing while its in pieces?

It generally works fine and there isn't wind noise. Apart from the tilt function has been acting up and refusing to close without a bit of downwards pressure on the front glass.

The seal when it goes back in and while its out you might as well do the rebuild kit.

Odds are the issue with the tilt is just adjustment and calibration. When I replaced my seal and it was new it was so tight that my tilt wouldnt close all of the time, especially when hot. But an adjustment and calibration resolved it.

Weld in a factory roof available from BMW and delete the whole thing. I would LOVE to ditch the pano roof on my wagon.

I love having a sun roof. Its a prerequisite of all the cars I buy.

Which rebuild kit? There is a common one 54107227894 but it doesn't look to have enough parts in to service the entire unit, only the rear glass.
Real oem shows
Different sets for mechanism front / rear / headlining.

Not sure, on my vin FX16687 realoem shows more parts but he main plastic parts line up to what looks like is in the kit pictured in ECS.

I suspect they are just focusing on those plastic bits that get brittle and the long "cable" mechanism.

And Im with you on the sunroof, the panoramic is a HUGE selling point of my car. My only beef is I wish the deflector was more effective when the sunroof was in MAX OVERDRIVE mode but at LOW speeds its freaking awesome.

And when the weather is nice put an inflatable twin mattress in there, drive up to the mountains, open the sunroof and watch the stars and "chill."

Our vins show the same parts available. Seems half jobbish to service just the rear glass mechanism using the kit.

Nor do I really want to spend £400 on serving bits that aren't broken.

Might just clean and grease it all.

+1 to the seal. This can be a nightmare when completely worn and you realize your roof speakers are leaking water

You certainly can for sure, it might be fine just depending on the life it lived. Here in Atlanta I think the heat had made the plastic more brittle so when I replaced my seal and readjusted the glass a couple of pieces just kind of flaked off because the plastic had become brittle.
