Intercooler recommendations

My 335 D is fully deleted and tuned, it's now time for an intercooler upgrade. I see lots of people going with the ATM or Wagner, has anyone had luck with lesser known or less expensive intercoolers?

That's kind of what I'm after, hoping someone can recommend one they are happy with. I've done a ton of mods and I'm quickly running out of funds. I'd like a Wagner or ATM, they are just having a hard time swinging it at the moment

The advantages of the wagner and the ATM IC is that they get rid of the crappy hose connections.....any bigger IC will be of benefit but you gotta seal it.

Please report back with your results. I'm in the same boat as you with a stock intercooler and a leaky red boost pipe. I'm looking to upgrade to ATM as well.

Anyone tried this? The IC on eBay is much cheaper, $170. Looks pretty solid.

Edit: for some reason won't let me post the link... trying again
Edit2: ok new link

Sorry i quoted the wrong post of yours but you mentioned that the wagner got rid of the leaky quick clamp connections? I'm assuming you are referring to the evo 2/3 correct? The boost pipes are also larger is that correct? Plus the wagner comes with the ASV hose as well which the ATM intercooler does not correct? Which would you recommend more over the ATM vs the wagner evo 2 or 3? And keep in mind with that comparison I would be adding the ATM ASV hose to that order as well.

BTW what's this about a discount on the ATM products? I'm really curious if that's a good discount or not. Is it enough to sway my preference?

Lol, okay. I apologize if I overstepped my boundaries... I had seen you were upfront with another user earlier in the thread about how you could get them a discount on a ATM product.. So I figured if I asked the worst you could say is no.

Regardless, I may have misunderstood the tone of your response, but if you still have the ability to hook someone up with a discount I definitely am in need of one. Especially if I'm going to be dropping hundreds of dollars on a car part.

I own a Wagner and definitely experienced a performance increase. With that said if I had to do it all over again I would probably buy the ATM unit just because their stuff is higher quality.

I've been running the Wagner for 2 years with no issues. I also changed out the boost hose to the Forge when I did the intercooler. No leaks in 2.5 years. ATM makes great stuff also. Wagner quality is high.

There is a reason why atm and Wagner are the best. Also Wagner has stages of IC's for different tunes. I went with the atm just because I have everything atm available for the car I.e intake, exhaust, IC now, etc. they seem to be a favorite for daily drivers vs track/performance build diesels. JR tune also recommended atm.
(Running 2.8 on mine)
