Question Mystery Key (At Least For Me...)

Does anyone know what this key is for? I recieved it with my keys during an ED this last May but I have never found an explanation for it in the manual and my searches in this and other forums turn up nothing.

As you can see it has no cuts in in - only the black dot on the back side. It may be made out of aluminum or it could be plastic but I am not certain.

Anyway..? - love to know what it is if anyone has a clue.

should be a "blank" key fob in your glove box, you insert that into it, and put it in the dash

That key is for if you want to keep your batterypowered keyfob in the car while you go dip your ass in the ocean at the beach. Its only a spare key to open the car, you can't start the car just with this. Its called a wallet key. I just saw the picture and realized there isnt any slats.. HMMM let me know when you figure out what it is LOL..

i dont think you can do doors with this, i dont see the grooves cut into it like mine. looks more like a valet key, so they can park the car, but not get access to glove box/trunk

Since we've gotten this far and no one else has correctly identified it, I will. In the spirit of Thanksgiving I say it is the Tur key.

Note: I searched and found nothing. i found this link, http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5412 its from 2005 which makes it semi-irrelevant since the key pictured is yellow. Whereas the ones they are talking about are black and have been cut.

OP, do you have another plastic key?

The black ones are not valet keys. It's a wallet key for incase you lock your fob in the car or lose your fob. For when you valet your car, take the metal key out of the fob and give the valet the fob only. Not that you should valet your car.
