Stock ride height G80/82

I haven't found anything, so I thought i quickly ask in here.

Has anyone the stock ride height of both M3 and M4?

I am interested in the measurement from mid axle (center of the wheel) to fender, both front and rear.

Would be eternally grateful.

I was just wondering, if anyone could tell me if this seems like a normal ride height? It's an M4 xdrive and it's so high, it looks off. The gap between fender and tire is around 6cm or 2.3".

Your rear looks like it’s raised up. My rear has barely a 2 fingers gap.

If you have an M3, then thats normal. M3 in the rear has a much smaller gap than the M4.

Is your ride quality harsh? IF so you might still have the shipping blocks?

Not really. It drives quite well. But I was just able to check the car and apparently, the shipping blocks are not there. It appears, that the car really is that (unnecessary) high.

Last week I took my M4 to the dealer (not the same dealer where I purchased) to have them check if the shipping blocks were mistakenly still installed due to the ridiculous wheel gap (ride quality was fine). Unfortunately, no blocks. G82 wheel gap looks so much more pronounced than my previous F82s. I'm not sure which direction I'll go (if any)…fixed springs, HAS, wait for M Performance HAS.

I have a set of KW HAS already waiting. The MP HAS will only bring the car down by 15-20mm, which is by far not enough. Also it will not come too soon, its still in long term testing.

Yep that is how bad the ride height is on the M4.

Yes, I figured as much. Will fit KW HAS tomorrow. This is horrible to look at.

For reference. The shipping blocks are confirmed, removed. They put them in a bag and put them in my trunk, when I took delivery. the xDrive is said to sit 1mm taller than the RWD variant, but as most people have noted, it sits quite a bit higher than a G80.

Wooow…the gap is ridiculous on a stock M4…M3 is much much better…

But on this pic I would have said it is on shipping blocks…then I went on my old pics and it definitely looks similar…

I know even more now why back in January 21 on the day after ordering mine I called KW

I just measured it yesterday and it's 385mm RMK all around. Ordered KW springs and I am a bit worried, that it wont drop enough.
But I will see later today. 20mm on the rear doesnt seem like much.

Pics I have seen on KW seem to get just as low or more so than AST springs I'm running.

Thing is, here in Europe KW has set a min. height for the springs. In order to get no trouble with officials, you have to comply.
It's 355mm front and 365mm rear from wheel center to fender. That's only 20mm in the rear and 30mm up front.

Depends on the look you like....if you like it flush, you gonna be disappointed. I have KWv4, there the min height is 350 front and 355 rear, and that is not enough to remove the gap fully...

Here some pics of mine with 350 & 355

This is pretty much a perfect drop. for me maybe almost too low in the front, but looks awesome.
Doesnt have to be flush for me, like 1 finger gap would be nice. guess the 365 in the back might be a bit high, but the springs are only a temporary solution until the DDC hits the market.

Ok, then I guess you gonna be fine, with my measurements it is more or less a 1 finger gap so if DDC will have same min. heights as the KWv4...with the springs its probably gonna be a bit high in the back...

However, I like it flush....and while doing some setup changes we also dropped mine to be completely flush now with 345 and 350...so it is in the "measurement tolerances"

Yes, i will probably do the same in the rear. Front is out of threads anyway, but rear can sit a tad bit lower.
