LA to Sonoma - 430 Miles

Lastnight I drove my 335 from LA to Sonoma. It's my 1st time taking the car on a significant "road trip" style drive. Every other time I've come up here(my gf lives here) I've either flown or rented something else.

I was unbelievably happy with the drive tho, I understand that this car is a BMW & it's meant to be driven, however, LA is one of the few places people spend excessive amounts of money on their cars & then drive 4,000 miles per year! Thankfully, I don't fall into that category, just hadn't driven it up north.

Nevertheless, the drive was great. Stopped once for gas, I averaged 20.4 MPG which isn't so great but it really isn't horrible considering I was doing at least 80mph the entire way with spurts of excess, not to mention that for the 1st 200 miles of this trip it was pouring rain! The car gripped the road like a BMW should, granted: I have upgraded suspension, tires & wider wheels but I never once felt unsafe doing 80 +mph in the rain, I never once felt as though I needed to over compensate for anything the car was lacking.

Moral of the story, I'm happy with my BMW 335!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who celebrates!

Right. Where they have a Metro line, a bullet train, buses that run every 10 minutes and pedestrian right-of-ways. Huge bike lanes, too.

Beverly Hills is not Los Angeles. It is its own city.

I was able to get 26-28 mpg (average) while driving long trip from Las Vegas to Riverside in my 335i. I set my cruise control at 80 mph.

Your 335i should get 26-28 mpg, not 20.4 mpg??

Nice write up Nick. When I drove up to Sonoma in my 335i it was pure satisfaction! It really is a drivers car.

beverly hills is not camouflaging anything, it's in fucking los angeles. just because the houses are more expensive than houses in the valley doesn't make it not a part of los angeles.

& you're a fucking idiot, if i wanted to show off in front of my gf i'd borrow a much better car than the 335, fortunately for me, my gf isn't with me because i have a bmw or any other cars for that matter! & it's not my "new ride", i have 23k miles on it. so again, unless you want to say something constructive about the post or unless you have any idea wtf you're talking about, i'd suggest not posting just to add to your post count.
