BMW Performance-Whats quicker
Now I'm aware all you guys are driving around 335i's and 330s but I would just like to know on a performance basis (i.e hp and 0-60, torque etc) which is better
2006 BMW 325i Sedan OR 2004 BMW 530d Sedan Thanks |

I have driven a 530i (not diesel) and I've noticed that it's slower and heavier than 3-series. If you are looking for a performance-oriented car, get a 3-series with bigger engine.

I'd just like some technical facts about these 2 since you guys know a lot more than me...I myself have a 325i and a friend is buying a 530d. Just wanted to know which is better regarding performance.

if you're comparing the E60 530i and the E90 330i, then it's all in your head, both cars have roughly the same weight.
I don't think he's shopping the two cars, he's paper/magazine racing. Seeing as he owns a 325i, he probably got a request from a guy driving a 530d to race him and he wants to know if he can beat him

I always thought the 5 series were more clumzier and heavier than 3.
On the side note, it all depends on all the bells and whistle comes with each car, like power seats bla bla blah. If you take striped down 3 to a fully loaded 5 of corse the 325 is going to be a lil quicker no? |

that's like saying a fully loaded 3 is heavier than a stripped 3; of course it is.
Comparing base to base, an E60 530i is similar in weight to an E90 330i.
