no spare?

JUST got my 2009 335i e90 delivered today which included the 18" run flats. I would like to get new wheels and have it narrowed down. 19" alloy Technic brushed metal silver I think. It occured to me though that there is no spare or room for a spare. So I am limited to finding 19" run flats to fit this? Or are many people on here just not keeping a spare using regular tires? maybe a noob question.....

thanks in advance.

John

you could use regular ones and use a space saver, or a puncture repair canister.

Give ebay a try. If not, i'm sure the dealer can help you out.

You certainly wont be the first person to have asked.

That's what bmw roadside assistance is for. You pay for it so why not use it.

very harsh ride, when you hit a bump or pot hole you jar your back teeth. soon as you put on your non rft's you will be shocked at the difference!

There's litteraly 100 threads already on this topic. Just do a quick search for "spare tire" and you'll have answers to everything you could possibly imagine.

Most folks that switch to non RFTs carry a small compressor and glue kit. Beware though if you have active TPMS, as some say it will kill the sensors. Otherwise, you can pucharse a small spare tire kit for about 300 dollars. I think Leatherman.com had some, but he's out of inventory currently. This option will still take up valuable space in the trunk since there's no room under the trunk floor to store it. Otherwise, stay with RFTs. Despite all the bitching and moaning about how horrible RFTs are, they really aren't that bad, IMO. I've got the Bridgestone Potenza Summer RFTs and they ride just fine. If I wanted something that rides like a Lexus, I'll buy a Lexus.
