Dude, if you have 320d, you don't have spark plugs, you have glow plugs. Totally different issue. I agree with the poster who suggested it may be the glow plugs, that's about the only thing that seems to make sense.

And how are you out of warranty if you have a 2006 MY car?

mkey, awkward. my first diesel, so never had to deal with this, and in my native language we just say 'plugs' so don't really distinguish as in english.

it's europe - 2 years and out of warranty unless you buy an extended version. Thats' what Germany offers. Noone subsidises our cars here for us, this is not USA.

Looks like your car is requesting a pretzel. If I was in your shoes, I would get her one.

It's definitely a diesel glow plug.

When the engine is cold, the glow plugs may need to heat up for a few seconds before you can start the car. You'll pretty much never see them in the summer because the engine is always warm enough. I don't know exactly how to do it with a push-button start like we have in E90s, but in old fashioned cars with keys (), you'd turn the key to the ON position and wait for the glow plug light to go out, then turn the key to start the engine. The light is telling you that the plugs need to heat up before you can start the engine. It's normal.

thanks! probably then with push button you just switch the car ON, and then wait a bit... i guess.
