HELP!! CA problem after window tint?

Hello,

I put Suntek Carbon films 35% all around today, but after tint, it seems like my CA isn't working promptly.
It works if I take out the key fob from my pocket or when I hold in my hands.
And if I go to rear winow/fender area, tried with 2nd key fob, still same.
Replaced new battery, no luck.
Installer told me Suntek Carbon has no metal layer, but I think films are blocking signals.
Radio and Nav still works perfect.
Does anyone have similar problme?

should have done your research buddy.. as posted a few thousand times already on e90post.com, some metallic tints will interfere with your CA. I am surprised that tint hasn't affected your navi/radio too. Sorry but it's your tint, either deal with it or get new tint.

tjnptel1, thanks for reply,
but as I stated on my original post, I have non-metallic films, but carbon dyed.

If there was a cell phone in the same pocket as the key, that may have interfered. That's been reported here, too. Put them in different pockets, and the interference is gone.

But yes, tint has caused some people problems with CA. Ceramic tint seems to be fine. F1 Pinnacle is popular and doesn't affect CA. Your tint isn't supposed to have metal so I wouldn't think it's the tint, but if that's the only thing that has changed, then that's a pretty good indication it's the tint!

Thanks for reply,

I checked CA without cell phone in my any pockets but no luck, I rolled down front windows to see if CA works, but still no luck.
Installer confirmed me once again, Suntek Carbon-dyed film doesn't have metal layer, but CA stopped working right after I got tint.
One thing I found is when I rolled down my window and rolled up, I noticed water on the film, it seems like they sparyed water too much and still wet, can this be a problem?
BTW, They offered me to replace tint film with 3M color stable, and hopely it fixes my problem.

I have 3M tint and my CA works perfect. I don't think it's a bad idea.

I have 3M FX HP and have no CA problems. Forgot to ask if it was metallized, but it seems to be all good.

OK, I have 3M FX HP 35% tint all around. Out of concern from just finding out that my tint was metallized, I went to my car and locked/unlocked both doors + trunk using by using CA like a hundred times with both hard and soft touches to the door handle (for self-assurance). I came back with no problems whatsoever and my car acted as it normally did when it didn't have tints.

I do want to note though that I thought the CA was acting up due to the tints at first, but I ignored it because I thought it may have just been the cold weather. My CA has acted up before without tints when the weather was really cold a while back when I didn't have tints, but when I had the tints put on, the weather was in the 50-60's before it dropped to the 30's the day after. As of now, my car is warm in my garage, so the CA is working perfectly, but it may be a different story after leaving it in the cold tomorrow.

Also, by "acting up" I mean that the doors don't lock or unlock on first touch.

is it possible maybe that they put too much of that spray on and somehow it got into the door panel and screwed something up?
