New DCT transmission recalled by BMW

It seems that all is not quite well with the new generation DCT transmission, as BMW is recalling it for a software update to address harsh downshifts during hard breaking which can result in engine stalling.

Given how manny problems BMW had with the largely failed attempt at the first generation DCT, one would think they would have done more testing before releasing the new generation with such a flaw ?

we all thought so too but even now, cars are still having HPFP problems.. so that theory is out the window.

Yeah, the fuel pump issue could actually be quality of fuel related, since this does not seem to be an issue in Canada or Europe
