Strong Fuel Smell coming from back seats, what can it be?

Just noticed today after a fillup. The smell lasted untill i got home (100 miles) and it got stronger...
Can this be a fuel pump issue, since its located under the rear passenger seat?

Did you have a rear passenger? Maybe one of your passengers stepped in a bit of gasoline on the ground while you were pumping gas.

what does that mean? obviously in the only place where the gas can go.

I should also say that i just found that the seats are wet in gasoline. Can this be a bad fuel hose spraying that shit everywhere?

Yeah you should check to see if you or someone stepped in gas or if some spilled on your while removing the nozzle.

That'll surely teach anyone to smoke in your car!

Seriously, you should bring it into the dealer pronto!

What kind of a leak or malfunction could get the seats wet? That seems real odd and dangerous.

It is a JOKE. If you just think a bit about what I was implying, it would be obvious. I get the feeling BMW drivers often don't like to think much.

The seats are wet? That's not physically possible, even if the gas tank had a leak.... And if there was a leak, the gas would flow down, not UP
