Mudflaps????????????

Delivery on my e92 coupe is this coming Monday Live in nyc and was wondering people's opinions on adding mudflaps on a coupe???? I think it might take away from the lines of the car but will serve a functional purpose. Appreciate comment and thoughts!!!

Mudflaps are great, but not on BMWs. You lose the clean lines. Just my opinion.

Stupid idea. Get some 3M clear shield if you are really worried about the paint.

No, not really functional, and looks nasty on any other car colour but black!

Everyone who has them says they are definitely functional and keep the car clean.

I would recommend mudflaps. Every car I've ever owned has them, even my 300ZXTT.

I guess it depends where you live and how they look on a 3-series (I don't know what they look like... I don't own an E90 yet).

Borrowing a picture from the link above:

See the spray pattern on the car? That is what hits my vehicles up here in Northern Alberta. Our winters are nasty... all the sand and grit. That can easily sandblast your paint. (and it would sandblast 3M film too, except you can't even buff the film out).

Mudflaps.

I have them but on a black sedan - since the colours match, I actually think it enhances the look of the car - but if the colour ain't black, not so sure.

Any pics? I'm thinking of getting some for my JB e90 too. Like others have said, winters can be nasty up here. While washing my car this summer I saw lots of nicks around that area that were definitely from winter debris.

On dark color cars they looks good!
MF and tint - only two mods that I add to my car.

Most people on this forum will tell you that they either hate them or don't belong on a BMW. I put them on mine and have done so with every car I have had since and including my 85 Corvette. I don't think they look bad, but the real reason that Ii put them on is that in my area they go way overboard cindering the roads in winter and tar and chipping the roads in the summer. Unfortunately, even though MFs do offer some protection against stone chipping, they are still not 100% effective. BUT BETTER THAN NO MFs AT ALL! Too bad if others don't like them. Its YOUR car and do what you like with it!
