E92 rear storage rattle

I think that the rear storage sliding compartment on the coupe is rattling. It only happens every once in a while but its hard to reach my arm behind me while driving to see if opening/closing the lid makes a difference.

Anybody else have or hear of this rattle and know how to fix it?

i had that problem when i changed my exhaust - apparently the rattle is quite common.

there were many suggested fixes such as removing the sliding cover and adding felt etc.

i just stuffed it full with some socks to hold the cover firmly and the rattle was gone.

if i remember correctly, someone told me this was a design fault which was fixed on later models.

Same problem here. Maybe try stuffing it with something.

Looks tacky but I just took the sliding part out all together.

Im gonna try tomorrow and put small strips of felt pads along the track of the lid to stop the rattle. Hopefully I can make something so its not noticeable to a passenger.

Ill post pics if I get it working.

I put a piece of felt on the front and back under the slider. So far is working ok. Much easier then trying to put felt or tape inside the side sliding area. Ill post pics in a day or so if my method keeps working. Its real easy and only takes a minute to do.

put a rag MF rag into it and stuff it shut...I don't see any real use in that rear console anyways...anyone sitting in my car will neither eat or have a beverage other than bottled water which he or she can hold between their legs or store it on the nets on the back of the front seats!!

Yeah after I put my exhaust on it started to rattle. So now I just leave it open.

e93 has a cup holder but I dont know if it fits.

Only options I know are to stuff something in there, remove the lid, or line the inside with felt or tape.
