Only a question of time - kerbed alloy

After exactly 7 months of ownership, I managed to do this yesterday. I've never had a wheel refurbed before. Question is, should bother, and if so how much should I expect to pay for this?

£120 seems to be the going rate.

It's a diamond cut wheel so get it fully refurbed - don't go to a mobile touch up place the repair won't last.

I wouldn’t waste my time with a DC refurb. They will corrode. Use the offered warranty on the refurb as a gauge of its longevity.
Go for a powder coated finish instead. Then in another 7 months when you curb a wheel it’s only £40.

That said, if your car is in warranty then it looks like there is corrosion around the centre cap so make a claim via BMW. As the wheel is also damaged, they will ask for a 20% contribution but at least it will be a new wheel with 1 year warranty opposed to a refurb.

I would have the wheel refurbed and diamond cut. Have had diamond cut wheels repaired in the past and all have been fine. If you leave it then you risk having the milky white residue building up due to lack of lacquer on the damaged section. Just make sure you use someone with a good reputation in your area.

Yes that can easily be refurbed. As mentioned above it's diamond cut so it would cost a lot more than your usual painted wheel refurb.

Mobile guys can do it but it won't be diamond cut. They can refurb it to a very high standard so it still 'looks' diamond cut but not noticeable to the untrained eye. I know a mobile guy who is really good and i recommend him to everyone

I'm in a similar situation, the issue with powder coating is that you need to do all 4 to keep them looking the same.

True but it will only be around the cost of 2x DC refurb and will be cheaper in the long run after a) the DC corrodes b) he curbs it again 1 week after the refurb.

Or there's my approach - do nothing.

I've kerbed all four wheels in the past 5 years and each time I wince at the sound.

Doing nothing saves a lot of money.

Rub it down with very fine emery paper and give it a good coat of wheel wax to stop corrosion. You won't notice it unless you look for it and worry about refurb if you do it again.
