Im sure most will agree to sell the first car yourself, then buy the new one. There is no cheap way of switching cars that are so new.

+1

It's like every other thread, people with too much money just decide, let me sell my "2 year old" car to buy a new car which I will probably sell in 2 years....

Why didn't you just lease it?

The cheapest way would be a private sale, because dealers will rip you off on the trade in.

Can you explain to me how does one change their mind about buying something so expensive. I mean when I drop 40K on an item, I REALLY REALLY want it, and I don't change my mind about it in a year.

I am not judging, just wondering how the hell that happens.

I have spent a good 3-4 months going back and forth and waiting for the right deal to drop $50K......

heres why:

i really wanted to get out of my Range Rover. I was in a rush because the value was tanking so fast. When I traded it in July after 10 months and 10k miles I lost $17500. I went with my current car because it was the best i could find in such a rush. the difference between the Range Rover and my car was $3700 after taxes. I didnt want to spend more than that to swtich and like i said my car was the best i could find.

I didnt lease the Range Rover or the 3 because i drive to much.

You need to not rush your purchases.

And lease. I have the same problem, I like to get new cars every year or 2..so I lease.

even more reason for you to consider what car you want.. in such a rush, I'd just sell it and buy something cheap first..

Range Rover never had an history of maintaining its value... you should have known that when you got yours.... the depreciation only slows down after 3rd/4th year.. I mean... I have always thought those who can afford a range rover should've long thought about the consequence of value-dropping and gas-thirsty characteristics...

I knew that and I couldnt afford that....

Anyhow, back to your original question.. I'd just keep your 07 335i... E90 335i drives just as well as E92 IMO~ But then again, E92 does look better IMO.. :P There is no cheap way to look better.. you gotta pay to look good..

ok,

The best price you can get for your car is by selling instead of trading in. The best price you can get for the new car is finding a dealer that can take you to a car auction or buy private party. At the dealer you are guarnteed to pay premium for no good reason.

You don't need a CPO since your attention span isn't long enough, just make sure it is currently under warranty.

Alternatively, just as a side note, consider buying a classic car that will hold its value and will be an interesting piece to have.

been in your shoes regarding changing cars in less than a year. i had the g37 for a couple of months and it came to a point that i know that i really should have gone with the 335 which was my first choice. the G was my 2nd option but an unexpected visit to infiniti dealer with a a tempting offer made me jump into the g37. so finally after few weeks of denial i finally decided to go bmw and just go for what i really wanted. now i can say i am very happy but to tell you honestly i paid alot with the upside down on the g37. think real hard and if you still can wait a little bit more for atlist a year. so that your upside down will not be that high. goodluck

in this economy, I'd recommend holding on to your e90 and save for college. If you can afford an e90 and less than 2 years later, can afford an e92, then you can afford to put some away for college. Or better yet, buy some stock or mutual funds. You won't find prices this low again any time soon.

Having had 64 cars in the last 10 years or so, It hard to even break even, I did make money 3 times from 3 cars, best idea go to the BMW dealer and see what cars they own well, from there deal

+1000001 Reminds me of the young and old bull...

There's a young and old bull standing on a hill overlooking a herd of cows. The young bull says "hey, let's run down there and fuck one of those cows." The old bull replies "no, let's walk down there and fuck them all".
