right side mirror Cracked!

The cold weather is setting in. The other day I had my HVAC set to defrost and also had the rear window defroster on. When I got to work my right side mirror had cracked! Nothing hit it. I assume it was from the cold mirror being heated.

Same...Exact..Thing...Happened to my drivers side mirror yesterday morning and everyone thinks I'm nuts for saying that it was because of the extreme temp. change overnight (70 to 28 in one day) I'm like "yeah...because it's soo easy to drive in reverse fast enough for a rock to magically get thrown up high enough to directly hit my mirror". I'm hoping BMW will cover it under warranty when I bring it in tomorrow. Good luck to you too man. Peace

This is common. It happened to me on a cold November night in Munich, the first night I had the car. The glass (about $450 on a car with premium pkg) was replaced under warranty.

Same thing happened to me today. Walker BMW didnt believe me that it cracked on its own but I convinced them to cover it under warranty.
