Dumb question..

I dont have a 3 series yet but im looking to buy a 335i. So i went to the dealer to look at them and I noticed when I turned the knob for the lights, the headlights raised and lowered. I know the car has Adaptive headlights. But why when I turn them on or whatever I did do the scam up and down? It looked pretty cool, I just didn't know why they did it? Thanks!

It does that as a way to show how cool BMW drivers are. It's like a nod. So when you start your engine, you have to nod your head to the lights.

it is auto-leveling, the headlight is adjusting themselves for the tilt and load that is placed on the car.

Its a "look at me" feature. Works really well when the ladies are passing by your car and you turn it on. Makes the car look really advanced and expensive. When they see the lights moving it gets their attention like bait in the water. Just so happens that the BMW roundel is between both of them and thats what they see next and theyre hooked after that.

The true answer is that it is calibrating the lights every time you start the car in case any excess vibration has moved the level up or down.

My 06 VW GTI did this too. So although cool, it is in no way a "special" feature.

Your brought me down a little bit haha. Another question, didn't want to start a new thread. The center counsel cup holder, is it heated and cooler? Or just 1 or the other?
