Is it possible to siphon gas from G01?

Or more important can I get a hose down into the tank?
Is there a check valve?

Not critical yet, but might need some gas for the generator. I have a hand pump but keep reading that siphoning in modern cars is impossible??

I was under the impression all modern vehicles (since about 2000?) had some convoluted shizzle to prevent such tom-foolery. Could be wrong :-)

Buy a good quality gas can....lol.....pretend you have a gas lawn mower like many in the country......easier than your crazy "siphon" idea.

NOT helpful!
I have 20 hours of gas in "good quality gas can" but with an unexpected visitor on an Oxygen machine I wanted to have a back up as my local gas stations were closed due to storm power outage.

My power is back on and all is good - thanks for your concern......

Long term I would suggest installing a home standby generator (typically powered by natural gas).

BTW...had you mentioned you intended to siphon for medical emergencies my reply would have been more like the above.

I normally prefer hauling my extra gas in home depot 5 gallon buckets. Way cheaper and work just as well.

If you're rich, I'd grab a lid for them but those aren't necessary unless you have a few bumps you have to go over on your way home.

Is it ok to put those buckets in the passenger seat?

Safest spot for them in my opinion. That way you can hold them while you drive so they don't tip over by accident

It's not going to be really realistic to remove fuel from the car without using a special tool. See AGA fuel extractor tool. This is what we use at the dealership and that alone is tricky to use.

Better yet, have your wife hold the Home Depot bucket on her lap while she's sitting next to you in the passenger seat.....if it spills it's HER fault.

Your jokes are only funny to you and a 5 year old.

Sure, but why wait for an explanation just to decide to be civil? As a fellow Bears fan, I'm a little ashamed for you being kind of jerky without really understanding or knowing the full extent of a situation.

What's wrong with just being nice, and offering a knowledgeable reply, without denigrating someone?

Jeeze.....what a bunch of humorless jerks......IF you read my post (#5) I ended it by saying had the OP mentioned he wanted to siphon for a medical generator in the first place my reply (and others) would have been less harsh.

Some here need to take a chill pill.....it's just a blog. Seems these days people are too eager to pull their swords....relax, relax, relax laugh and enjoy life and your BMW's

btw...this year the Bears DO really suck!...LOL
