Former BMW hater.....now an owner
I used to dislike BMW's very much, mostly for their minimalist interior. While shopping for a new car (c63 amg, s5, new camaro, ml350, etc) I decided to look at an 09 335.
I knew all the details of the 335 from watching it in the reviews against the cars I wanted, but I never thought I would get one because the interior didnt seem luxury enough for me. Eventually I decided to test drive one and two days later I bought it. 09 Jet Black E92 335i xDrive with sports, premium, cold, and i-drive. Oh and 1.9% financing! The interior is fabulous and the car looks much much better in person both inside and out then it did in pictures. Im now a BMW convert. other cars fyi: 07 GTI, 06 G35, 88 Camaro with 454, 07 Santa Fe, 01 A4, etc. Bottom line - see the car in person. test drive it. buy it.

day two: tint, debadge, MUFFLER DELETE
The mufflers are sitting in my living room, so the golf tee mod no longer applies. lol You should have seen the look on the techs face when I said chop the mufflers off my two day old BMW. priceless! Right now there is a screw in the line, but im actually gonna put the BB back in it and zip tie it.

will post pics today. its been raining here since i got the car.
and I didnt remove the cats, I removed the mufflers and tips and replaced them with straight pipes and new tips. and debadging for me at least gives the car a much better look. the back of the car looks more even and more aggressive now. its a personal choice the same as the color of the car is. youll see when i post some pics.

I used to have the same mentality about them, owned an IS300 a couple years ago, and loved the car, then life happened got a divorce, called back to the Army, and now things have calmed down and I will be the owner of a 2009 335i in June

I remember doing a back to back test drive of the 2008 g37 and 335coupe
From online pictures I did not like the simple fisher price bmw interior. When I saw the g37 I thought it had too many buttons but the quality was good. Then went to the bmw dealership and saw a 335 coupe with aluminum trim. simple sophisticated was my impression and the car said drive me while the g37 said play with me. Even at 10K more the bmw with saddle brown interior is still pleasing to the eye while I know if I bought the g37 the silver paint would have been all scratched up by now. Welcome to the community! |

thanks for all the welcomes.
and the gti is great. best car in its class for the money. lots of modding potential. german car feel. big user community. I have nothing but good things to say about it. g37/g35 seem to be everywhere. the 335 coupe seems to be a bit more rare around here. if a 335 coupe and g37 was driving down the same street, the 335 would get the first looks from the passers by. seems like a different class of car to me.

Congrats! I just went from an 06 MKV GTI to an 09 E92 335i xDrive myself. I loved the GTI, but the 335 is just in a completely different league.

I think a lot of people feel this way about the interior of these cars until they are actually in one. The pictures dont seem to do it justice.
Put it up against a newer C class any day and the interior has much better materials. I think our FX45 interior is junk compared to the 3 series as well, just feels cheap. The only cars that I feel, look and feel better right now (in this class) our the Audi interiors, I love the textures.
