Oil level temps during traffic
anyone else notice that during stop and go traffic your oil temps are higher than normal no-traffic freeway driving?.. I'm guessing this is normal.. I usually get around 240 steady with regular freeway/local driving.. but if its stop and go or creeping mainly in 1st and 2nd on the freeway, my temps will reach a little above the middle hash or roughly 250..
anyone else's car does the same thing? |

When I eventually get a Dinan stage 1 I will be picking up the oil cooler add on too. I don't like my oil that hot.

My average oil temperatures dropped ~10F to around 235F under most conditions after a Dinan Stage II tune. I didn't upgrade the stock oil cooler but the Dinan software runs the water pump more aggressively leading to lower temps.

I've noticed this too, even with my 328. When I'm cruising at a good speed my oil temp settles in at about 220-230, but when I am inching along in traffic it climbs to 240-250.
