Car Keys

Hey guys, got a question for a friend:

He has a 95 Maxima and when he bought his car used, the owner only gave remotes that unlock the car, and a set of keys that only the trunk and can start the car but unable to open the car doors for some reason. Is there anyway to get a set of keys made for the door locks without replacing the door locks? He doesnt have a template to remake the keys.

I had once lost my key and found out that honda dealers could make a key for you if ordered based on the vin #

Maybe you can try calling Nissan and find out.

Whats wrong with the remotes anyway

it's $250 at the dealership... remote and key. just need to give the dealership about an hour of your time and the car to program it.

The door mechanism on the driver's side must had been changed. Maybe get a whole new lock set, ignition, trunk, door? Gonna be expensive though.
