HELP!! Got REAR-ENDED :(
Went to eat at Red Ant Cafe in San Gabriel, so as I am getting on the 10 freeway going back to LA, for those of you that know the San Gabriel Blvd. freeway entrance there's a yield sign. There was a car coming fast on my left so OBVIOUSLY with the YIELD, I had to brake, next thing you know... the car behind me BOOM right on my ass. He was tailgating me like there's no tomorrow... Whatever, so we exchanged info, no pics yet cuz seriously CANNOT see any damage until you FEEL it with your fingers. What should I do? Where should I take my car to for inspection and what should I do next...
HELP!

I don't know.. At this point you should just ship me your wheels (at your expense of course).

Report it to your insurance, tell them you are rear-ended and you don't think you should pay your deductible. Take the car to the shop of YOUR CHOICE. Have them do an estimate. Then, order and M-Tech rear from Tischer to replace your damaged unit. Problem solved.....

i'd pass on your insurance if you can... no matter if its your fault or not, even if you don't file with them but theres a police report made out your rates will go up... maybe not by much but be damn sure they'll fuckin try.
I agree with Kev though, go get a quote from your local BMW dealership on a new painted rear and install. send the guy the bill and tell him he can write you a check or you can file a report and go through his insurance cuz he'll be at fault no matter what. then i'd go get an mtech bumper and enjoy your new rear end for the BS this dude put you though... how come people can't just drive attentively??? |

If you can't see it visually, do you want to risk something going wrong during replacement?

I went to Mckenna BMW Collision Center. 562-345-7000. They're the only bmw certified center around the area. Just bring it in get an estimate, took like 15-20min. they'll print u out a sheet with an estimate and it's free. good luck, pm me if u got questions. |

How hard did you get hit?
I got rear-ended hard in a Maxima. I got out expecting to see the whole back of the car pushed in but there was no visible damage. I took it to the body shop and when they removed the bumper they found that the reinforcement was all smashed. If I did not replace it and then got hit again, there would have been a lot more damage to the car.

Pay for the repairs yourself and bill the guy for it. The damage is too minor to go through an insurance.

I would have a body shop thoroughly inspect the rear.Do notify your insurance; in case there are damages that you find down the road, you can be covered.
