Upgrading to coilovers, code out EDC or buy a kit?

My xdrive f30 came with adaptive suspension and i purchased coilovers that dont have EDC. Would it be best to code it out altogether? Saw in thicwhips video that he couldnt access dsc off when he coded out edc on his supra, so im trying to ask if anyone has had experience with this?

Which route would be best. And if i were to code out the edc, do i just unplug all the edc wires altogether?

What coilovers did you purchase? KW for example offer EDC Delete kit to negate EDC functionality without coding which can be erased of the dealer upgrades the software after a maintenance visit.

Are you sure about that? The EDC is coded out by editing the VO through esys, not the typical light coding through bimmercode Carly etc. I don't think a dealer software update would alter this, but I'm pretty sure I could just re-do it if it did, and save myself the $. The harness also needs to be unplugged from the EDC module in the trunk. I found the procedure on here by searching and will be doing it soon along with the install of my new suspension. I've also heard that those EDC delete modules can be flaky and aren't worth the $. I'll post back when I get done.

The decision is entirely yours. Dealer programming upgrades firmware in all ECUs. You can certainly recode if previous coding has been reset.

I never had issues with EDC Delete kits.

Ok, thanks. I don't ever intend to do software updates at the dealership. I and I really don't need my coding changes redone. Everything works just the way I like it at the moment, so I don't see a need to rock the boat. I guess if I had no choice and I had to go there for service, and they happened to update my software even though I asked them not to, then I would just redo my changes.
