What is this in my wheel well?

Picked up the car yesterday with 50 miles on it and I noticed this silver looking contraption

Does anyone know what this is?
Part of it sits on top of the tire and it seems that if the wheel were to compress, it would rub.

Probably shipping blocks. My dealership forgot to remove my rear ones and I drove around without shocks for the first week. LOL

Yes def shipping block. Keeps car higher making their life easier when speeding around the ship during unloading and loading. Also looks like you won the tire lottery and got 4Ss.

It looks like you might be correct. My sales guy said it's attached to the strut itself so it will move with the tire not with the spring so it never rubs.

False alarm!

Yes, that’s what what it is. Took a screenshot from H&R’s lowering spring install video for reference.
