Maxton kit side skirts

I received my CF side skirts and it has come with 20 screws where they mention to screw in 10 each side across the length of the skirt. Are that many needed? I plan on using 1" stainless steel screws with a 3mm shaft without any nuts. Also I am trying to figure out how far out should the skirts be from the edge of the rocker panel. Any tips/suggestions?
