Sooty Exhaust!

I have a one month old 318i Edition M Sport, with 1800 miles on the clock.

I have noticed that the exhaust seems very sooty, every time I wash it i have to remove lots of soot freom he exhuast tail pipe, as it forms on the edges of the silver finish. After just one month it is now staining the silver finish and I will need to get some metal cleaning paste to remove it, as it won't come off with normal washing.

Is this normal?

Apart from that, it's brilliant!

Its not unusual put it that way. Diesels with DPF have much cleaner tailpipes from what I have observed.

Speak to the dealer if you are concerned.
