Best way to remove front license plate bracket?

Hi there,

I just bought a white 2021 X5 last week in Maryland. The car has a front license plate frame, but I live in a state that doesn’t require front plates.

Have any of you removed front license plate frames? How much do you think a dealer would charge to remove and repair the damage?

I could also just get this instead:

What are your thoughts?

i don't believe it can be repaired, just replaced. i have a brand new front bumper trim if u want to go back to the original OEM look. i can let it go for super cheap. BMW part no. 51-11-8-099-662

or you can use BumperPlugs in Jet Black (668) to cover the holes

personally, i wouldn't use a big logo license plate as a faux one; i would revert to original or a subtle fix such as the plugs.

Did you ever replace the bumper trim? I think its not possible to take it off with bumper on the car?

Picking up a 2021 X5 CPO from a BMW dealer in MD on Saturday. Did you use the plugs or buy the trim piece? I want the dealer to remove before delivery but I guess I need to have a plan before I do that.
