tpms, trick to check it

So my 2009 335i is showing tpms inactive. I scanned it and it showed the left rear tire was the issue. I have about 8 different tpms from rims I have bought over the years, but I did not know if they were good or not.
So I got the idea to tape the tpms to the rim and drive down the street. The first 2 still showed inactive error, but the 3rd one showed low tire pressure, so I knew that it works. Just thought I would share this.

Interesting trick, good to know to save going through the hassle of trying it inside a tire and all that work

Great idea, i have a BMW m'cycle (K1600) and was thinking how to test them with out taking the tyres off.
Simple ideas are usually the best.
