Why would the paper lie? On the contrary, papers normally exaggererate in a "look what happens when you're naughty" tone.

In actual fact it looks a lot worse than it actually is, not helped by the fact that the engine is in the back, but there is actually very little incursion into the passenger cell.

still stopped hard mate, crumpled through the boot and stopped at the bulkhead.

Maybe there were lucky. I dont trust anything papers say.

I don't trust what the papers say either, but I can't see why they would bullshit here, especially since it refers to the hospital.

The article does say

'The prang left the engine and bonnet wrapped around the structure. '

The impact was so hard it pushed the engine into the back of the car
