Next stage of tune
Having had the car and driving it for at least, ohhh, about 2 weeks I'm thinking of how it can be made quicker.
Im pretty sure it's actually slower than it was when I bought it. The ECU has adapted itself to my 80/20 driving style and in D is now very smooth and relaxed (as opposed to the first few weeks when it was touch sensitive and completely mental, thanks I'd imagine to Steve's 100/0 style of driving ). Might be that, or that i've just got used to it already, just feel it needs a little more. Upto around 40 is OK when there's decent grip, after that seems to tail off around the 70 mark. Sooooo, what's the next mod to get. Currently running Milltek exhaust, Evolve tune (chart says 365hp but might be more) and sprint booster on the pedal. Milltek is a bit battered, needing its gaskets replacing (being done tomorrow) so that might be it. What about downpipes I keep hearing about on the US forum? Or an intake? Or intercooler? Could go the LSD route but its higher speed acceleration I'd like where the grip doesn't come into it. Any thoughts appreciated ETA: Balls, just realised I spelled the title wrong, can you edit that?... AHA, found it... |

More power is needed,
For more power you will need a tuning box mate, Procede or JBII or something and you will see over 420bhp with your other mods. You may need to get your ECU turned back to stock though.

Depends what the ultimate goal is Trixman, if its putting out 365+ and you take it to 420, it`ll feel a little sharper `till you get used to it but it isn`t going to blow you away.
If the turbos aren`t near their max I`d look for a way to lower the compression (pistons or a "spacer" head gasket) and run even more boost but a bigger oil cooler would be the first on my list. If you don`t do a lot of high speed driving and just want raw acceleration, change your diff to a 4.1 which will have the effect of about 10% more power to the wheels. |

To be honest I think I'd need a reliable 20-30rwhp without effecting the warranty. Will downpipes help? Anyone done that here?

trixman,
Whats the fuel quality like out there ? JB3 with the BMS (K&N) filter is a solid 400bhp/500NM torque on 99 V power. Factory driveability too. With you re-worked Milltek 420bhp is amost a given. Yves |

hmmmmm sounds good, what's the jb3 like? Really like the map that's on now, feels like it should have come from the factory like it.
Plus thought the k&n didn't add anything? |

Quote:
The K&N replaces the factory airbox completely and besides allowing the engine to breathe better at the higher boost levels you can hear the turbos spooling up more which is rather nice in itself ! 8-15 rwhp is claimed in conjuction with JB3. Yves |

An add on box can't do anything a remap cannot. There is more control with the remapping the ECU directly. If you want us to adjust the torque and ignition curves to give you 400bhp we can but we wouldn't suggest it.
If you want more power safely then your next upgrade should be a larger intercooler. We offer two types. With the intercooler everything will run much cooler and efficiently. |

What's the costs and differences between the two Sal? And does it come as a package to be able to install off-site?
